The wedding has been postponed

This has been very difficult for me to write about, Nataleigh's father and Mark found out that the age of consent is 16, so we will have to wait another 3 years for the wedding.  I'm so dissapointed, the wedding is in 8 years.  Eight.  That means that the soonest I will be a grandmother is in about 9 years.  That is almost an entire decade.

I'm trying to look on the bright side but I am very disapointed.

  1. Poor Elizabeth. But just think, the extra 3 years Joshua will get to be training for his role as husband and father. Good time to learn about work and gain good business skills along with his regular homeschooling. With that he will be able to provide even better for Nataleigh and the children they will raise up for God. And you also have the opportunity to show all your children an example of patience. They are watching you, right? Besides, there are women twice your age who long to be grandmas and aren't. Shall I put you in touch with some of them?

  2. Let me understand this. You want to marry your daughter off at 13 so YOU can have grandchildren. Somebody please call Child Protection Services.

    1. Worse? If you read what this crazy person wrote, she said the age of consent is 16 so they'll have to wait 8 more years for the wedding. So this poor child is only 8!! What kind of sick _______ (feel free to fill in the blank yourself) would be upset that she can't do this to her 8 year old daughter? That poor child-as yes she is a child-is being groomed for this wretched lifestyle already. But I guess the mantra of get 'em when they're young and don't know any better seems to be the ignorant rules they live by. For shame!

  6. Please tell me this is satire and not someone actually marrying off CHILDREN like some Christian version of the taliban.

This is why I am open about being an atheist, because it's this kind of stunts, where other peoples' human rights and freedoms are infringed upon, and vital life decision made for others (especially children). No matter what your religion is, that is inexcusable. Your religious freedom stops with you.

Do whatever you want with your own life, but beliefs do affect behaviour, and those behaviours are no longer innocuous when they affect other people. In this case it's downright immoral. Thanks goodness (and literally that, goodness) that most believers are more moral than the things their holy books preach.

  7. Nataleigh is so blessed. She gets an extra three years to sew an entire household of linens for her and her husband to be. Just think how many curtains, quilts, and baby clothes she will be able to sew during that time.
